"If you turn away your foot from the Sabbath,
From doing your pleasure on My holy day,
And call the Sabbath a delight, ...
Then you shall delight yourself in the LORD..."
Isaiah 58:13-14 KJV

Many years ago, I wrote a song for our family to use as part of our family worship on Sabbath -- the seventh day of the week. The song is titled This is the Sabbath Day.  It is based on the Bible verses found in Genesis 2:1-3, Exodus 20:8, Isaiah 58:13-14, and Matthew 12:12.

We especially like to begin the Sabbath hours (Friday evening at sunset) by singing this song and reading Psalm 92 -- "A Song for the Sabbath" (we use the Readers Theater version which is on the Readers Theater page or at this link: Psalm 92 - A Song for the Sabbath

My hope is that each one of you will find the joy God desires us to experience by honoring His Sabbath Day.  Below are some original songs written especially for worshipping God during the Sabbath hours:

Many great song writers have written hymns for the Sabbath and we like to include them in our worship also.  Below are arrangements of some of our favorite Sabbath Hymns and choruses.
