"...be filled with the Spirit, Some Bible scholars say that occasionally the Psalms (or other scriptures) were spoken or read aloud to the listening audience; sometimes accompanied by a stringed instrument, and sometimes this was in the form of an antiphonal or responsorial reading. Likewise, we today can enhance our worship experience through similar methods such as readers' theater, choral readings, and responsive readings. These formats provide an alternate format for reading scripture and praising God. The Seventh-day Adventist Church I attend sometimes uses these formats and I have found them to give a very meaningful dimension to the worship service. We also include them occasionally in family worships to add variety.
